Why clean it yourself when you can buy 1 pound pack of dressed blue crab!
The blue crab, also known as a swimming crab, or prefixed as an Atlantic or Maryland swimming crab, is a staple of the eastern United States. It ranges from the coast of the Gulf of Mexico, and from Cape Cod up to Argentina, and has been a well documented food source for centuries, at least. Most folks will steam or boil these crabs, but a grill works great too!
Succulent, slightly salty, and subtly sweet – these are the tantalizing adjectives used to describe the meat of this crab. Maryland is synonymous with this delicacy, naming it their state crustacean in 1989. The Maryland website describes its culinary use as follows: “The blue crab’s scientific name translates as “beautiful swimmer that is savory.” Blue crab meat sometimes is compared to the sweetness of lobster meat! The flavor is best appreciated by cracking and eating steamed hardshells or feasting on softshells. Crab is prepared in restaurant and home kitchens in innumerable ways, steamed or sauteed, as Maryland Crab Cakes and Crab Imperial, or in crab soup and crab dip.”
Our blue crab comes frozen whole, cleaned, and ready to cook, in one-pound packages. It’s wild caught and ready for you to enjoy!

Storing your Fresh Catch product:
Fresh seafood should be transferred to a refrigerated environment upon receiving and consumed or frozen within 2-3 days. Any seafood received frozen should be kept frozen until ready for preparation. Items can be stored frozen for up to 12 months but are best if consumed within 6 months of purchase.
Best Practices For Thawing Seafood:
The best way to thaw frozen seafood is to remove the product from the original packaging, place it in a plastic bag, and allow it to thaw in the refrigerator for about 6 hours. If you require faster thawing, we recommend placing the product into a non-vacuum sealed bag and placing it under cool running water for around thirty minutes to an hour.
