The live Maine lobster (also known as the American, Atlantic, or Canadian lobster) – one of the pinnacles of fresh seafood cuisine – shipped fresh, straight from our tank, to your door. Ranging in size from 1.25 to 1.5 pounds, these lobsters are perfect for all varieties of cuisine. Commonly steamed or boiled, the possibilities are decadent and tantalizing. Lobster bisque? Delicious! Piping hot lobster tail as part of some surf and turf? Exquisite. Lobster mac and cheese? Yes please!
An experienced lobster diner may be prepared to cook ’em, crack ’em, and chow down, all with their bare hands; if you’re a lobster novice, have no fear. A simple tool like a nutcracker, and a long, thin pick for getting hard to reach meat will work very well! Each lobster has two distinct claws; one will be a bit harder to break than the other. The larger is the “crusher,” the smaller as the “cutter” or “gripper.” The crusher certainly will be harder to break, but might contain more delicious meat!

Storing your Fresh Catch product:
Fresh seafood should be transferred to a refrigerated environment upon receiving and consumed or frozen within 2-3 days. Any seafood received frozen should be kept frozen until ready for preparation. Items can be stored frozen for up to 12 months but are best if consumed within 6 months of purchase.
Best Practices For Thawing Seafood:
The best way to thaw frozen seafood is to remove the product from the original packaging, place it in a plastic bag, and allow it to thaw in the refrigerator for about 6 hours. If you require faster thawing, we recommend placing the product into a non-vacuum sealed bag and placing it under cool running water for around thirty minutes to an hour.
