Our delicious fresh rainbow trout fillets weight between 9 to 11 ounces and are already butterflied with the skin on. This makes it very versatile – you can pan fry them, stuff them, or bake ’em!
While originally native to the Pacific Ocean, from North America to Asia, Rainbow Trout have been introduced on every continent with the exception of Antarctica! Cited as having a mild and occasionally nutty flavor, as well as being very tender, it’s easy to see why Rainbow Trout is both wild-caught and farmed worldwide! Storing your Fresh Catch product:
Fresh seafood should be transferred to a refrigerated environment upon receiving and consumed or frozen within 2-3 days. Any seafood received frozen should be kept frozen until ready for preparation. Items can be stored frozen for up to 12 months but are best if consumed within 6 months of purchase.
Best Practices For Thawing Seafood:
The best way to thaw frozen seafood is to remove the product from the original packaging, place it in a plastic bag, and allow it to thaw in the refrigerator for about 6 hours. If you require faster thawing, we recommend placing the product into a non-vacuum sealed bag and placing it under cool running water for around thirty minutes to an hour.
